After 20+ years of bringing hockey fans together, The Maple Leaf Pub, Houston's only hockey themed bar, closed it's doors in the summer of 2025.  To carry on it's legacy, former owner and partner of Hockey Day In Houston, Sean Blair, reached out to the Hockey Day In Houston co-chairs for ideas as several bars and restaurants reached out to both sides.  Together, along with the committed establishments, the campaign of #HTXPuckDropsHere formed with the purpose of creating a community effort to partner and market hockey friendly bars and restaurants with a goal of continuing to bring hockey fans together to watch hockey on TV, while also providing a new opportunity to come together to market and promote hockey in Houston and the rinks in a combined effort.
